International conference on the development of yachting
Moscow, June 28, 2007 – Insurance company "the Anchor" took part in the III International conference "prospects of development of yachting tourism, recreation and sport in the waters of St. Petersburg and North-West Russia", held on 18 June in Saint-Petersburg in the exhibition complex "Lenexpo".
Among the issues discussed at the conference is development-based small boat fleet, international cooperation in the field of yacht tourism, improvement of legislation, the safety of boating.
First Deputy General Director of the Insurance Society "the Anchor" Andrei Popov spoke at the conference on the role of financial and insurance programs in the development of yachting. Special attention was paid to the role of the Russian Yacht Insurance Pool providing insurance to protect small vessels. The pool provides insurance of courts and responsibility of ship-owners, and, as noted by A. Popov, "in whatever port of the world nor the insured event occurred, the Pool will settle". Joint and several liability of pool participants on existing contracts is 800 million rubles, he added.
