Kaliningrad yachting in 2005 will celebrate its 150th anniversary

In 2005 Kaliningrad celebrates its 750th anniversary and this year marks the 150th anniversary of yachting in the region. In Germany, the first yacht club was founded in 1855 in Koenigsberg in Eastern Prussia. This club, called "Sailing club" ("Segelclub Rhe"), were United by Prussian aristocrats and acted mainly in the Vistula (Kaliningrad) Gulf.

Currently, on the shore of the Kaliningrad Gulf, just 17 km from the regional center, begins construction of a modern yacht club "Barracuda". It is planned to build the Marina, hangar for winter storage and service of boats, a hotel, a restaurant, a shop selling sports equipment. As said General Director of "Barracuda" Konstantin Karchevsky, yacht club will meet the European level. On the basis of the club will be possible not only to hold competitions. Residents of the area and our guests can relax on the Bay or take a boat trip with a visit to Poland, Germany, Sweden and other European countries. The company plans and the creation of a children's sailing school.

"Currently, design work is carried out and the search for additional investment in the project. We are open for cooperation and we invite Russian and foreign investors", - said Konstantin.
